Programming language: Advanced JavaScript & Basic Python
Course description: Level 3 is focused on the design and architecture of more complex programs. Students learn more advanced coding concepts, such as basic game AI (Artificial Intelligence), physics, and common algorithms (e.g. sorting or search). The Level 3 curriculum is split between JavaScript and other languages so that students can begin applying the concepts they learn in Microbit to other languages and environments.

This also includes a digital citizen certification.
• Students will learn the importance of digital safety and how to protect their personal devices and information from outside threats.
• Encourages students to apply digital ethic principles in their online interactions.
• Helps students understand the widespread importance of digital security in their everyday lives and equip them with skills to better protect themselves on the Internet.

Prerequisite: : Graduation from Level 2 or demonstration of strong handling of core programming concepts, including basic data structures and ability to build more complicated games in Scratch.
Graduation criteria: Demonstrated understanding of
• Sorting and Search algorithms
• Basic Artificial Intelligence
• Basic Game Physics
• Program Design and Architecture
• Basic JavaScript knowledge

* Listed ages are recommended. Your child’s instructor will help you determine, if your student is ready for higher level at an earlier age.

But the real value of the course is not in learning the details of some programming language. Our students learn to think with mathematical precision while interacting with fun programming concepts, puzzles, and challenges that stem from geometry, algebra, computer science and physics.

Working through the self-paced projects designed by our Experts, your child will develop a talent for problem solving that overflows out of the classroom and into all aspects of his or her academic and professional careers.
